Here’s some tunes that are rewarding, but not for the regular reasons.
I call this stuff ‘novelty music’.
Hey Useo, this looks right up my street (do I say that about all mixes???), anyway I really like the look of this, Spike Jones, Frank Randall, Richard Cheese and Negativland all in the same mix, WOW! I have a similar “eclectic” type mix almost finished myself. on the d/l now, thanks hp 🙂
Hidden-Glad you approve,it’s not normal music by any means.
I sure want to hear yours.
Isn’t it weird how many covers have kids on them this month? lol
This one reminds me of these showmasters who bring one joke after another. They can be big fun but they are straining. Is this why you name the mix Endurance Test? There is a lot of jocoseness. Nevertehless I had to quit around the middle and continue the next day…
Sincerely yours
Spencer DDTM
nice work! – beefheart, ren&stimpy i guess you haven’t heard the re-mix of SpongeBob’s theme (it rocks backwards)
…so your’e an ‘Odd Ball’ I am sure you’ve heard it before – but this is proof. I hope you’re not planning on running for president of normal land.
this looks brilliant Useo.
I actually have a few of the tracks on here. It’s my “secret music”. Well, not any more.
This mix is sure to keep me happy at work tomorrow. Cheers.
Monty-I’ll have to try the backwards spongebob.God knows I am sick of it forwards!
Yeah, secretly on the side I collect novelty records.Good for y’all I got the banana splits album right after I finished this.
Frankie-You are most brave to confess your ownership.I am glad I don’t use my real name on this.lol
Many or most of these tracks are edited to aid the forward motion. That last track was actually from an entire album of Rick Astley mashups. It would kill most people to hear them all! lol
la la mix.. ella guru is one of my favourite tunes ever
This looks like it could be alot of fun, must say I’m intrigued.
lol this mix made me laugh a few times. a wee bit tough on the ears but palatable..
loved the SpongeBob bit..
Brilliant! I thought I’d picked up some way out stuff but it’s nothing compared to the beauties on this. Spike Jones is the man (he’s on my forthcoming mix for sure). Do the Pig has a lovely melody which I find quite affecting 😉 Some excellent covers included, especially Comfortably Numb and Richard Cheese obviously and to top off some Marx Bros and Three Stooges. And The Nowtones rock – must check them out. Lovely stuff pal, cheers hp 🙂
