bloody hell that was quick, Monty!! Cheers for the comment!
Some mistakes in there, no it’s not perfect but I can’t be arsed to sort them out!! Another eclectic journey that went all over the place with some modern and old favourites
BTW the full title is Stuck Between A Sock & A Hard Place (My Life As Lance Armstrong’s Pedal)…..got too long to write it all out though….
Had this on this morning at work, another enjoyable set with good variation. Sometime looking at tracklistings before hand can ruin the surprise of the next track!
I’ve just been on someones blog (tomorrow never dies) has some awesome stuff on there, scrolling through all the mixes and singles etc and came across one of your mixes on there. Have you heard of the site before?
Yeah I know that blog and was in irregular contact with Mike who runs it, some absolute gems on there, I think that I got ‘Here Comes The Judge’ from him.
not my favorite Dangerscouse mix – but with Def Jeff and anything from the Blues Brothers soundtrack, I wasn’t going to miss it…
still enjoyed it – especially nina simone, louis prima, the clash and of course that last track from Jake and Elwood Blues (“we’re on a mission from god!”)
I wish someone would tell me that the Dangerous-one really isn’t going into a semi-retirement…
A wild little set with lots of fun it.Maybe not the smoothest mix from you,but an enjoyable one.In a few spots like that leadup to raspberry beret,I was impressed with the transition.Wot a tough flow, yet you nailed it.
You almost killed me with the curb track, but I was smiling lots.
I enjoyed the content & your handling of it much. Was most surprised how you pulled off that fraggle bit.
Seems like the nearer you get to “retirement”, the better the mixes get. Maybe not as smooth, but more eclectic, more adventurous and more fun. The Roy Ayers track is killer, Basement Freaks also, all the African vibes are great but my favourite bit is tracks 15-17 – it’s hard to listen to Louis Prima without grinning from ear to ear. Never liked the Blues Brothers though but that’s prob’ly just me.
Cheers all much appreciated as always, mixes are a bit rough and ready at the moment…..and I am going to retire and possibly start using Ableton in the future. Still got five more mixes that haven’t been posted on the ‘box.
‘Just A Gigolo’ is in my top 10 ever tracks, never tire of it, nor the Blues Brothers, but music is a very subjective matter.
Been downloading your mixes for a while now (linked by DJ Format) and enjoying them muchly. Love the esoterica and your willingness to play the Genre Spanner.
Kudos for the CanCon. We here in Canuckland appreciate your playing Cadence Weapon and even Fraggle Rock (!). Cadence opened for Buck 65 on their recent tour and, if you haven’t heard the latter, check him out.
ta very much mate, that’s put a smile on my face! I’ve always loved a challenge in mixing terms, and my love of music is almost as vast as John Peel’s (well I like to think so, but it probably isn’t 😉 )
The Cadence tunes that I’ve heard are really impressive and I’ve been meaning to listen to Buck 65…I’ll have a look out for it.
I’m intrigued as to what you mean by “linked by DJ Format”…..surely you don’t mean that he’s linking to my mixes do you?
Finally, cheers for the Working Together comment as well….
eclectic & unexpected even with my eyes on the tracklist while listening and with a great flow, especially liked the Play That Funky Reggae thing. big up mate!
enjoyed this mix – plenty of frivolous tunes mixed up with a nice flow, very girlfreind friendly which has been a help in between the boshing stuff i’ve been playing 😉 i like the magic fly stuff you’ve played over the years – must get hold of it…

I’ll try and upload the Magic Fly tracks that I’ve got as you’ve liked two of them now. He hasn’t released any of them so he won’t mind.
And thanks to Steve & Dave…..thought I’d said that already
