Superb mix! Some beautiful music and great use of samples. Nice version of “Pulsating Brain”, and I love the Legendary Pink Dots track – I once played one of their tunes (not this one) in a chill-out set and someone told me to cheer up!
Wow – excellent mix! I’m blown away by this one – not so much for the music (although the music is ace) but for the storyline and almost plot which develops through the samples. Amazing work!
I especially love the Hal/Dave exchange – v v funny 🙂
Nice work HP! Really liked this: ambient, space-themed sounds with the perfect balance of up and down.
The only thing that I didn’t like was the “microsoft toilet” skit – I think it kinda interrupted the flow a bit – so I did a re-edit and chopped this bit out before adding to my collection of HP mixes not to be removed from the iPod.
That aside, this one is right up there with the HP classics…
Deja Vu feeling all over again
Nostalgia ain’t what it used to be
Echoes of distant voices
Sound of a microphone burning
All your mixes get a blanket recommendation, but those four and now this one are absolute classics. I listen to them more than pretty much any other mixes (bought or downloaded) I own.
Ed, thanks for commenting and good to see you back. Now, regarding Microsoft Toilet… I was in two minds myself about putting it in or not. I really wasn’t sure but as it had me creased up first time I heard it I took the plunge. I might let you have a listen to my drafts in future when I have a conumdrum like this (if you don’t mind of course 😉 cheers hp 🙂
Happy to help out if needed, but I’m not sure my judgement is particularly reliable! Six years in, my mixing is still exclusively performed in slobbing about the house wear with a can of lager rather than in the main room at a mega-club in Vegas.
Just to re-iterate though, I really loved this mix and I command you to keep them coming.
