“One To Grow On” — for my interpretation of a classic hiphop mix… obviously misses out loads that I wanted to play but I didn’t have the time and will mix in “Two To Grow On”
Cheers for posting B… I still haven’t got an FTP program on the new PC.
Overall I was happy with how it turned out, given that hiphop can be a real pain to mix.
A few minor beat drops here & there but doesn’t dent the excellent selection.
Thumbs up, as always mr. Scouse.
I think this is the one you sent me awhile back, but I haven’t got it at work so looks my work peeps will have their afternoon listening sorted out.
this is a classic! don’t sleep on this one.
You’re a hard man to please Mike! Given that a lot of it was manually looped to make the mixes longer it was always going to be difficult to maintain the beat matching even without the looping.
Cheers BM & KM for the comments! Gotta three more mixes that I’m working on very slowly that you should like….albeit with a few mistakes. Nowadays I can’t be bothered with the odd mistake here and there.
Yup Stu, that’s one of my faults 😀 , but trust me I ask more of me in that area… anyway, as I said that doesn’t in any way dent the mix quality. Or does it change the fact that tune selection comes first & foremost to me.
As said before, if I didn’t enjoy it then no mention would’ve come of it.
I wont speak of it anymore. 😎
Hey, at least you’re getting the comments! 🙄
Great party tape – only got about half way thru today – hip hop (I have a few old school classics etc) is not my area but really enjoying this – looking forward to the other side tomorrow!
If ever there was a reason you should carry on, this is it. I know how hard it is to beatmix something like this, so props for making it flow so well. great selection – this is a great hiphop mix!
ignore the beatdrops thing – its inevitable esp if you did so much manual looping! nuff respect!
phat mix! well in lid
I’m a bit iffy about hip hop, but your take on it goes down very well indeed. Good selections indeed.
Thanks fellas, as always much appreciated.
TBH Len I’ve still not found my mojo on the mixing front, and I’m leaning towards selling them again. I’ve got three new mixes that are progressing really really slowly and I can’t seem to find the motivation to mix them again.
Also on another point I don’t think that this has got any swearing in it as well, wasn’t intentional btw, but considering that swearing is almost ubiquitous in hiphop I was quite surprised when I thought about it whilst I had my nephews in the car listening to it.
Nice back-in-the-days feelings with this one. The 1000 clowns track is dope…
how could i miss this gem for so long? checking it out right now… first track is a all time fav already!
did not like all of it but some tracks i had to get them right away… and great mixing!
some nice classic joints on here. i think that sorts out what im going to bump in my ipod for the next couple of days
