What an awesome tracklisting, from the last good year of progressive house. After 95, downhill with a few exceptions. Grace, Age of Love, BT, Reese and Sasha. Nice one!
Good tunes, enjoyed it. Have to say though that it reminds me of the bashing that ‘epic house’ took in the mid 90’s. Track 2 is still playing at 18 mins!
Yeah, I know what you mean about epic/progressive house – most of the tracks from that genre are around 15 minutes or more!
This was a mix I did for some mates as the early to mid 90s was when we really got into clubbing at clubs like Martha’s in Swansea, Hippo in Cardiff, Lakota in Bristol and then usually monthly forays further afield to the likes of Club UK, Renaissance, Progress and Cream and I wanted to represent the tunes we were enjoying back then. One of my mates wanted solely progressive house but that would be somewhat boring and I wanted to pick up the pace a bit in the latter half.
Anyway, thanks for downloading and all comments much appreciated etc
Cheers Panda very much brings back memories of the good old days esp Man With No Name, remminiscent of the perfecto fluro mix by oakenfold. keep it coming matey …Gee
Blimey this takes me back to being in some interesting shapes in Martha’s, Escape, Club Passion at the Patti Pavillion & Fulton House and of course Lakota.
As soon as the Reese Project came on I could’ve been at any of them or at Derrick’s on a Monday trying to remember WTF it was I heard over the weekend!
