My first mix on here and hoping for a bit of a critique from folks. This was really done for us at home, so had to suit me, toddlers, and wife. So might not be to everyones taste. I’ve only used Audacity to put this together, no proper mixing software, but I’m reasonably happy with the way it hangs together as a whole. I’m not going to say anything else, I’d like to hear your comments first!
It holds together well. A very fm-style production.
I was able to play it throughout easily. Some were not very well-recieved by me, but it was only for the style. Like the carpenters. Others will like, no doubt.
Frankly, I didn’t like every song in my Christmas mix, but I put them in for those who like that kind of thing.
Welcome to the site.
Audacity, huh? I hear it just got updated this last week with over 100 new effects. There’s one that duplicates jimi hendrix guitar effects.
Thanks for that. It’s a busy time of year for everyone, hoping one or two more might give feedback too. I’ll have to look out for that Audacity update. I want to get Acid though really, then I’m overdue making a mix for a mate.
In gladtidings vol. 1 given the right skills I’d have edited the Minnie Riperton one as that guitar solo goes on for 3 minutes, manic! I’m used to it now. And I’m not sure the Jose Feliciano to Otis redding cross over works that well and could be better. Where I could get away with it I was trying for a long cross over, but some of it just worked with a sudden change.
Yep, I liked it, smooth track selection and generally smooth mixing style (it is difficult with so many different styles to blend them well), so props to you mate and welcome to the site. cheers hp 🙂
Welcome to the ‘b0x BigCog!
I’ll save the critiques for your next mixes – Christmas mixes are the only thing I don’t bother listening to on b00mb0x. Bah humbug.
cheers all. my next one hmm, might be a little while b4 that happens. Anyway thanks for all the feedback, this mix has been played a lot in the family and will probably be an annual fave.
