Ok guys another new month another new mix, i really cant give an idea what genre this mix fits into but all i can suggest is to try it out as you may/may not like it…
ok guys listening again, the genre starts kinda Tribaly (if thats a word) gets a little proggy with a splash of Electro house in the middle and then kinda spams out and darkens at the end.
bongster is right y’know. I had a listen, but wasn’t my thing really. Also, commenting on other peoples mixes tends to get the comments flowing for you – not saying you dont do it, but its a 2 way thing innit
i supppose this month i have been more concerned about the listener comments than the music, personally i love this mix but suppose it wont be for all tastes.
im a little hesitant in erm commenting on mixes as i dont want to be classed as a spammer, (i tend to spam alot in my gaming forums) but anyway Bring on the Tunage…!
Its the big thing about b00mb0x that makes it ace – getting comments (positive and negative) is what you want – bit of feedback is interesting and makes you want to do more – I’d get in there, do some listening and give people feedback. its not spamming, unless you advertise viagra pills on a chillout mix or summat 😉
if ya’s in the comments box advertising your mixes, well that would be spam but i can’t see ya doing that here so don’t feel afraid to comment on ppl’s work. i tend to not comment on the stuff that don’t like, just cos i don’t really enjoy leaving negative feedback unless i can offer some posative advice in amongst it 😉
Wow! What can I say?! The mixing is bang on the money as is the set structure. I really like the different sounds which fit in nicely but give the mix ‘moments’, again a very good thing!!
Some really euphoric highlights and some really deep stuff here too!
I might even go so far to say that its possibly my favourite dance mix from the past few months that I’ve listened to so far.
As for genre’s, well this seems to cover Tribal/Tech/Minimal/Electro quite nicely.
Have to admit, of your 3 mixes this is the first I have listened to, so I’ll be checking out the others as well for sure!
One final thing, not that it really matters, but is this a live vinyl/cd mix? Cuz its even more bloody impressive if it is!
I’m rambling now…
Thanks for this one though! 😀
This again was a sequenced mix made via Sony Acid. i am set up to do live mixing just only Vinyl mixing at the moment but planning on buying a new Toy woot to play/mix mp3. so again Many thanks… and Bring on the BOOM
I like the more minimal/tribal aspects to this, and it’s a decent variety that makes it more interesting to me than some same-genre electronic mixes. but, i’m less and less in the electronic mood, so not enough my cup of tea to keep. in the interests of some constructive feedback, one of the things I liked was that you chose an opening that interested me… some electronic mixes I stop and delete after just a few minutes if they haven’t grabbed me.
Enjoyed the first half more than the second… the minimal bit was too minimal for me.
Agree with Matrix, the starting two or three tunes are important although this is very subjective and you’ll never ‘win’ every time.
The choice of tunes should defo be what you like, don’t worry about downloads and comments too much; easier said than done, but it does get easier over time.
As for comments on other people’s mixes imo don’t hesitate if you like it and think carefully before writing if you don’t like it!! There is no right or wrong in music, and this is a forum to debate and explore with mistakes and successes along the way.
lol mega thanks guys, as you can tell this is all new for me, but i really appreciate your feedback. tbh before the b0x i would get around 20-40 downloads and family would get CD’s but with here there is an uber amount of downloads and actual feedback…
