This isn’t my finest moment (too many pitch bends for my liking) but after five attempts I couldn’t be arsed trying again. It’s not that it’s bad, but not quite as good as I wanted it to be…
It’s a funky, latin, breaky hiphop mix with some old, some new and some classics. Similar to my Aye Carumba and Belt & Braces mixes…
Don’t worry about the pitch bends mate, its just one of those things.
I’ve got CD’s back here which have been high street releases with pitch bends in them.
Will be on this one soon!
Cheers fellas, I’ve gone through a real dry patch recently i.e. not ‘hearing’ the beats and not havin much in the way of inspiration. This mix was a real pain in the arse, and I just wanted to get it done.
Glad that it’s gone down well, although I was tempted to throw the decks out of the window a few times!!
I think that I’m getting back into it now, but slowly.
Probably gonna be a ‘Sound As Four Pound’ mix next up, just need to get one more track and then I can start…
Really enjoyed this, particularly the second half after Vanilla Ice – love that 3rd Bass tune! And enjoyed it all the more for knowing it was mixed live. BTW, I think that last track is “Sonny Jim”
Got halfway through this before being interrupted. Really enjoyed it so far – helped get me through the morning at work and it sounds like the best bits are yet to come as well. Nice!
Finally got my lazy ass around to listening to this. Only on the first track at the moment, but it is absolutely BOSS!!! 😀
Deffo be hunting it down!
Looking forward to this! 🙂
Tom, the new Aldo Vanucci album is worth a purchase… he used to specialise in party type bootlegs but he’s produced quite a few stormers this time around.
Yeah, I had a butchers to see what else he had produced. Gunna get that as well as Manteca’s album and a New Orleans Funk compilation album which looks pretty sweet also.
Apologies for taking such a long time to write the second part of my comment, my PC crashed and I’ve spent all afternoon in ‘safe’ mode attempting to fix it…*fingers crossed all is well*
Well, yet again you’ve pulled out some really awesome tracks – my favourites being the more latin and funk based ones (which no doubt you could have guessed that I would love).
I like the way the mix seems to flow a bit like a wave with several ‘peak’ tracks and with the rest (which are equally as good btw) linking them.
I too – along with many of the posters and mixers – am a really big fan of ‘Can’t stop moving’ so it was a fitting end to a wicked mix.
Thanks! 😀
It happens to me quite a lot. I sometimes try and download a mix and it only goes at 6 or 7kb a sec and I just cancel it and forget to d/l it later on.
Got another one coming today as well Steve… funky breaks again similar to ‘Sound As A Pound’ & ‘Party Animal’… I’m sure you’ll be pleased to note that there’s a FK5 tune in there as well…
Hmmm, I was thinking the other day that Aldo Vanucci’s name was familiar, but I couldn’t think where I had heard of him. Then I thought it was probably just because you had mentioned him before at some point.
Then, after a little research I realised that it was the same guy that I used to go and see week in, week out, DJing in Bar Ride and at Wonkeylegs in Plymouth. Quite chuffed now!
Was about 3 – 3 1/2 years ago but I remember he was an awesome DJ cutting up all sorts of hip-hop mainly. At Wonkeylegs he threw some other styles about also.
Anyway, another bit of useless nostalgia. Ramble over…
Just got round to this. Apologies. Fantastic!! Strange how alotta peeps love the 2nd half of the mix whereas I was in ecstasy at the first half. S’pose its a mix of two halves… great stuff, thanks hp 🙂
I’ve got the day off today but am having to do a bit of work anyway this morning – Boo.
However, I’ve slapped this on the background so at least I’ve now got a smile on my face and am typing in time to the breaks.
The second half of the mix is well groovy – reminds me of a bit of the Ursula 1000 mix album. Thing I’ve got a slight preference for the breakbeats but it’s only slight and the second half is a nice change from the usual fare.

looking forward to this one… nice tracklist!
anything with 3rd Bass goes straight to the top of my “to listen to” pile of mixes…!
thanks.
Thought you might say that Matt…
Don’t worry about the pitch bends mate, its just one of those things.

That was bloody lovely!!
Right up to the usual standard.
Very eclectic, covering all the bases.
Especially the latin section near the end & a killer final tune.
Thanks again fella.
🙂
Cheers FS!! ‘Can’t Stop Movin’ is a great tune…
well put together funky beats – absolute red card for the vanilla ice inclusion – there’s no need for that!
ha ha ha, I did wonder how Vanilla Ice would go down……cheers for the comments Len.
I guess that I had better scrub out that Milli Vanilli track from my next mix as well……
wasn’t really into it till after the vanilla ice bit. then it was spot on… great mixin’ as always… big up the scousefella
wow stu! this totally lived up to and exceeded my expectations! love this one… of course anyone who can fit a 3rd Bass track into a mix wins my vote 🙂
great mix — you keep getting better and better my friend… this is definitely in the “to listen to again” pile now…!
btw… nice one on vanilla ice too… 🙂

Cheers Lovely, much appreciated! Always room for a 3rd Bass track 😉
Interesting hearing that the latin part has gone down better than the start… I thought it might be the other way round.
I think that they’ve changed their name from Sonny Jim to Sonny J, but I might be wrong……
Splendid mix mukka. Can’t believe how much the Tuff Crew track sounds like King Bee, Back By Dope Demand… do you know which track came first?
Cheers T!
I believe that Tuff Crew were first in 1988 and King Bee followed it up in 1990.
It’s a blatant rip-off! – (unless they’re the same group with a different name.) – anyway, both stonkin’ tracks!
Got halfway through this before being interrupted. Really enjoyed it so far – helped get me through the morning at work and it sounds like the best bits are yet to come as well. Nice!
Cheers Edward! Yeah, it looks like the second half is going down better…
I wish that I could listen to music at work…
Finally got my lazy ass around to listening to this. Only on the first track at the moment, but it is absolutely BOSS!!! 😀

Dunno why this slipped past my antennae – must have been all that snowman building etc.
Talk about trackspotting – this has the lot!
loads of new stuff for me!
Just like your Aye Carumba mix – got a feeling this is gonna play on the pod for a while!
Gunna play it more tomorrow – I’ll be back to rack the brains!
It happens to me quite a lot. I sometimes try and download a mix and it only goes at 6 or 7kb a sec and I just cancel it and forget to d/l it later on.

ha ha ha, I’d love to see Aldo playing live… and I don’t mean Aldridge 😉 although I’d love to see him playing again…
Just got round to this. Apologies. Fantastic!! Strange how alotta peeps love the 2nd half of the mix whereas I was in ecstasy at the first half. S’pose its a mix of two halves… great stuff, thanks hp 🙂
No worries HP, glad you liked it and took the time to listen to it 🙂
Obviously I like both halves, but I did expect the first half to go down better (if there was gonna be an opinion needed ;))
I’ve got the day off today but am having to do a bit of work anyway this morning – Boo.

I’ll have to look out for the Ursula 1000 mix album…
Out on the Xmas razz in Brum last night and went home well refreshed on train listening to this all the way home, and now appreciate the whole mix!! 😉
Cheers HP 🙂
Where’d ya go out in Brum?
Oh crikey, it was an “office do” so no clubs, just Bennetts, The Crown, german bar, Chez Jules, Old Joint Stock…it’s a bit of a blur now. cheers hp 🙂
thanks for the support
drop us a postal address and I’ll send you a couple of mix cds
Fuck me Aldo Vanucci?!?!?! Cheers mate, will do.
As for the support, my pleasure, your latest album is boss. It’s a no-brainer in playing them.
