Yup, best turntables money can buy Stu! *Sparks up the ole’ Technics vs PDX2300 debate :D*
I’ve had mine nearly a year now… never seem to find a good use for the +/-16 pitch though, that said I really like the clickless pitch and quartz reset.
Bet yours are a bit cleaner than mine though Tendril!
Will give this one a blast once I’ve finished my nights Monday.
Cheers!
I’d love to have some mk5’s but can’t justify it - I’ve had my 1210’s for 15 years now and still going strong - also would like pioneer cdj1000’s but I figure money would be better spent getting a top ableton control interface
Personally, it’d be CDJ1000’s every time… I’d love to have the spare cash to upgrade to them, but my Denon’s do the trick at the moment and until (if ever) I start getting paid a wedge to mix then I reckon that it’ll stay the same.
Can’t believe that you’ve had your 1210’s for 15 years… now that’s what I call reliable. I wish that Dangerspouse’s back was as reliable as that…;)
I never get past -4 maybe -5 before I start going past my comfort zone and I start twitching… never like speeding up or slowing down anything too much but I guess it works very well on some tracks.
Mixing is perfect, and I really mean that. I was awestruck at the smoothness of it all. Sounded like one long track most of the time. The tunes are really good as well, not the type of breaks that I look to buy but something that I’d love to hear in a club and do enjoy listening to.
The title confused me a bit thought this was gonna be a chilled mix… suppose as long as you’ve got a 5k sound system, room for 500 people in your front room, a bar and a 300m2 wooden floor and soundproofing that would drown out the space shuttle taking off then this would be a great mix for staying in
Gonna get practising now that you’ve made me realise how much work I’ve got to do!!
Finally got round to listening to this and it’s a good ‘un - the sort of mix that makes me want to rush out and buy everything on here (I won’t though)! I particularly love the 1st track, and Ajello “That’s True (Elite Force Mix)” is an awesome tune. Interesting that Alabama 3 “I Shall Be Released (DIY Dub)” is almost identical to DIY “Hothead”…
Just out of interest mate, what carts are you using? Only reason I ask is that the top end is really sharp, and the overall sound is pretty balanced. My carts are a bit bass heavy and as a result I’ve been meaning to upgrade to some Ortofon Nightclubs for ages but just never found the £130 laying about to get em lol.
I’m about 5 mins in and liking it so far!
I liked this one a lot. Has a nice steady pace to it and the first third is very moody, then later on in the mix ‘Les Djinns’ adds a dose more of it. I should just say as well, that track is boss. I got a copy of it off of djdownload.com when it was a limited D/L promo and I was finding excuses to stick it into a mix anywhere possible at the time!
The mixing on this is spot on and adds to the already great tracks.
You and Timeloop should stick a collaborative mix together as his style (his first few mixes at least) was very similar to this. Could make an interesting listen indeed!
Anyway, many thanks for this one. Great stuff!

Shure M44-G. They’re a bit more ‘vocal’ than the M44-7 that I had before. When I get enough cash I’ll get another pair of headshells with the M44-7s on so I have the choice

“Mk5G’s” are they turntables?
Glad that you’ve obviously sorted out your financial issues as well……
Will comment ASAP.
