Okey dokey, this is more along the lines of my second ’24 Hour Party People’ Mix with a mixture of House, Breaks and Upbeat House / Tech-Trance. If you liked that mix then you’ll probably like this one.
Some very new tracks here as well as a few you may have heard me stick in previous mixes. Apologies for the lack of effort on the covers, as It stands – other than paint I have no image editing software so I had to go basic 😕
Anyways, as usual its mixed live – I had one practice run to see where I could incorporate my new Kaoss Pad 3 effectively so listen out for a few effects in the mix thanks to that. This time is purely CD mixed, next time I may go 100% vinyl… shall have to see!
Cheers Bong, kinda knew it was going to be a bit of a hit or miss mix.
Been meaning to do a raw techno / hard house set for some time now, so that will probably be on the cards next time 🙂
Cheers Ken. I’ve been lazy this month and haven’t got around to putting anything together so I’ll probably be recording something over the next few days I expect.
I’ve started the rather boring task of cataloging my records to make them more accessible when I’m mixing and although its great to refresh my memory of tracks that I haven’t listened to for ages, I can see it getting to the point where it’ll become more of a chore than anything else…
…We shall see! :s
Great minds Tom, I’m ploughing through about 100 CD’s with an avergae of 15 tracks on them that I’ve never listed the bpm’s for. It’s defo a bitter sweet procedure, great to find hidden gems that I’ve never got round to mixing and also quite boring… It’ll be worth it in the end as i’m compiling a spreadsheet with all the bpms that I’ve noted down. Should make things a load easier.
Yeah for sure, I’m going halves on one of them dyno sticker printer thingys with my dad so I’m gunna label them all up with Title + Artist + BPM. Then I’m gunna stick a brief note section beneath with the best place to use the track in a mix, its ‘feel/vibe’ and then any tracks that complement it. And for the extra special ones – ‘CHOOOOOOON’ in big bold letters! 🙂
Then I’ve gotta start on my vinyl… :S
In other news… after hearing some of his stuff in a couple of your mixes Stu, I d/led a few of Lack of Afro’s tracks. Damn its good!
Also got a few tracks by The Grits ‘Boom Boom’ and the B side which was called something like ‘Jam Jam’… again really cool stuff.
Went to see Mr Scruff again on Thursday so it was the perfect warm up! 😀
Thanks! 🙂
If this is your bag and you get 80 minutes to spare check out my ’24 Hour Party People: The Early Hours’ mix, that covers more druggy house, breaks, and some more trancey sounds.
This mix – as you can see from the comments, got a bit of a mixed reaction but overall it seemed to be well received.
Trying to record my next mix at the moment but my PC keeps crashing 🙁 – I got about 30 minutes in yesterday and total meltdown. Gunna hopefully record it on my bro’s laptop in the next day or so…*fingers crossed*

Cool, hope ya like it Denzil!
Mr Edwards – you’ve surpassed yourself with this one. Smooth mixing, good bright choons, and those effects work well.
Liked the whole thing but particular faves – T2 Saxophobic Satisfaction, and T4 SODB. brilliant.
T 😀
Cheers Trev, there’s one point in the mix which is perhaps a bit ‘over-effected’ but overall I’m fairly happy with how it turned out 😉
