This is a modified mixtape I made for my birthday last month.
It contains two separate moods :
The first is fun and enteraining, until April March’s cover of a France Gall song
The second side/part is concerning the hangover of the day after, which was really, really bad.
I changed it so the transitions are as smooth as possible, and I also changed the way the songs were
placed in order to make it sound like a real soundtrack.
So, no real mix this month from me, this is a mixtape and contains several of my last year favourite songs.
And .. .. .. Several tunes from movies or series I love.
Hope you like it.
Pay no attention to the cover or the title . . .
I enjoyed it throughout.A very good mixtape.
Thanks for the backstory. It made sense with what I heard.
About half of the tracks I knew.14,17,21,I most liked getting to know.
There sure is a LOT’TA music out there!
Thanks for more intros.
I’ll give some more explanations about some of the origins of the tracks included herein. Even though the track selection was quite obvious, some songs were left out at the last minute and replaced by others (I think of “The fairest of the season” by Nico which was removed because my wife can’t stand her voice).
Oki, let’s go :
Eels : Little children
Tuesday Weld & Of Montreal : The Weeds series
Combustible Edison : four rooms
Michel Legrand : Clay Pigeons (even though the song is older)
Matt Damon & Jude Law : The talented Mr Ripley
April March : Grindhouse
Devotchka : Little miss sunshine
Simon & Garfunkel : Bobby
David Kitay : Ghost world
Ennio Morricone : My name is nobody
All of the above movies are very good in my humble opinion, you can give them a try anytime, especially Little Miss Sunshine which is an awesomely strange and yet very funny film.
Oh, just one question : was the cuefile of any use ? I’m wondering if anyone still burn their mp3 on cds or do you guys all use ipods ?

and check The Beauty Room’s album, it’s a gem if you like Massive Attack and Steely Dan.
Same for Midlake if you enjoy Fleetwood Mac’s Tusk.
Thumbs up again dEZ – good selection.
I almost finished my next one . . .
Thou shall be surprised . . . mates . . . Yo ho !
As usual, it won’t sound like the other ones . . .
But I won’t provide a cuefile, no one seems to use it.
Ps : the more I listen to Nico, the more I’m moved . . .
Man you make some great mixes.
I don’t think I’ve ever listened to a mix you’ve put together without thinking ‘this is good shit’. Thx
Totally agree with ya Sarge…… one of the most consistent mixers on the ‘b0x, with some quality crate digging to boot!! Can’t fault it
