“borrowed” from eddie izzard, who uses the phrase in one of his jokes about getting about france with 70’s GCSE french as the basis for his knowledge of the language..
Well . . .
First, let me start by saying that I really appreciated all of those songs, the lyrics are awesome and they represent at least half of the interest of the songs.
You really did a great job, the songs are cleverly put together.
Nice cover by Youssou n’dour, I never heard this version before.
The one song I didn’t like is Katerine, not that it’s not good, I just don’t like that singer.
A nice collection of Classic French songs.
Oh, and the sound is great ! 320 Kbps you must acutally own all those records.
thanks dez !
i don’t deserve such credits…
I put songs together like you said..I’m far from doing the impressive work of some really good mixers in here..
But i have fun anyway, the funniest was to imagine english folks listen to old cheesy french songs… this is fun!
And there are good tunes in this stuff..Glad you enjoyed it ! katerine’s song is taken from his first album.. long before he went “let’s dress and act completly stupid to make business”, you should listen to “Le jardin botanique” : nice tune…
I ‘live’ in Michigan,USA,& quite enjoyed the amazing selection.I got a real sense of the local music & especially was grateful for the liner notes.
I was familiar with the artists of 1,5 & 7.The rest were new & pleasing.
Wonderful cover there.Looks hi-larious!
Thanks for the overview.
This one came up at random on my headphones at work today. Totally fab – perfect for stopping me being annoyed and brought a smile to my face (or at least a gallic smirk).
I’m a big fan of most modern French stuff but this was just as sweet. This put me in a French cafe somewhere in a small leafy square sipping wine from a carafe. Lovely 8)
Bonjour tout le monde !
Finally, here is my french mix :

Mon singe est dans l’arbre
Que fait-il dans l’arbre ?
sorry
it’s the only french i know
😉
It’s a good sentence anyway… You never know…sometimes it could be very helpful.. 😉
Sorry to show my ignorance…what does it mean?
it’s says
“the monkey is in the tree”
“borrowed” from eddie izzard, who uses the phrase in one of his jokes about getting about france with 70’s GCSE french as the basis for his knowledge of the language..
😈
If the monkey is in the tree, where is the cat ?
I’m going to listen to this one very carefully. I happen to understand French better than English and I ‘don’t know each and every song in this mix.
The cover is amazing, as always . . .
