Goran Brecovic - War
John Lennon - Imagine (inst.)
Cheers guys - bit of an experimental one this, so I’m relieved that you liked it.
Glad you appreciated the cover Mr Greencheese - dunno if you realised, but the picture is of an atomic blast taken at 1/1000,000,000 of a second afterwards when the air has been dissolved into plasma. It could be you.
Nice mix Mr L. It’s hard to get the balance and length right on these sort of mixes (I know, I tried with one of mine) but in my view you’ve succeeded. Top stuff (and a beautiful and apt cover as well m8) cheers hp :D
A very powerful & moving achievement. It really highlights the madness of the nuclear doctrine.
The selection carries the message with good sounds.
Good comments on the fine cover.Mighty scary, tho’.
Just listened to this for the third time. One of my favourite mixes on here. Appreciate the successful attempt to do something different. Good that it ends on a positive note too!
Really emotive stuff Mr L. Back in the day the Cold War must have put the wind up a lot of folk.
This is also very topical as Mr Putin considers lining up his missles at Europe and the US.
Thanks again everyone - the response to this one has given me some encouragement to work up some other ideas, although it’s gonna take me a while to source the samples.
Timely indeed - when I started this project about 6 months ago I thought this mix would seem dated as Cold War era provocations and prolification had been overtaken by the politics of fear and the tactics of terror.
Sadly it would seem I was wrong, and that East & West haven’t forgotten how to play this particular game, although like a child with a new toy they have both been distracted of late.
swamp : well, play iz 26 & feed iz 4. so thats deffo 30
matrix : back to zero... let's just assume only 1000 of those downloads were real hehe
matrix : no idea where the links to my mix are coming from... so i've renamed the mix
Der DiskothekerTM : Thanx bong!
bong : corrected
Der DiskothekerTM : dear ops, there is a mistake in the artists list of My House Is Built Of Rock.: the name is Alan Vega, not Aöan ... big thanks if you could correct it
AbeTwist : Still it looks cool, 1215 dl's Hate the fact that MJ's dead by the way, came as sort of a shock
matrix : not guilty, m'lord.
Ken Masters : Michael Jackson RIP
swamp : itz not d/ls. theres bin a direct link posted somewheres, mayb several. so peeps iz klikin on the link repeatedly cos it wont werk. in reality, itz prob around the 50 d/l mark
Der DiskothekerTM : this is more than a hit, this is a miracle: more tham 1.000 downloads in a day on matrix' actual mix!
AbeTwist : wow, that was a fast upload!
swamp : ...promises, promises...
wyse : @Warvadal I've got a tracklist somewhere. I'll find it and upload.
bong : i think the recent database problems caused a flux with people not being able to view the site properly, which in turn would probably have had a knock on effect with the lack of downloads experienced for that 2 week period.. the rest? who knows!
ambientfusion : new mix in the works... been a while. hopefully have it uploaded soon.
Der DiskothekerTM : The box remains mysterious to me. Sometimes a mix runs to some hundreds of downloads in ten days, sometimes it's only a slow dropping even though there is no difference in quality. I'm participating since more than one year now and still don't understand how it works... Nevertheless big thanks to all the mixers who make me puzzle about this question!
Warvadal : @Mr. Wyse. I see you have a mix upload. Do you have a cover and/or tradklist to go with it? I will wait to post it until I hear from you. Peace.
bong : cheers for the fixes naz.. bmbx works great again.. Hurrah!
naz : welcome back
ihou : A Soulful house mix back from 2007 coming on it's way Cheers Mates!
matrix : will do
Boogie Maggoo : If it's not too difficult could you update my mix with the new version? Thx
bong : fair to middlin' thanks useo
useo8 : lo all how ya been?
bong : nice one
shiningsteve : cheers for the tip bong, sent them a mix, should be up there soon
bong : hello all.. just a message to say that the internet radio station, dance biscuit, are wondering if anyone here would like to get involved within their schedule. here's the thread.. «link» don't miss out
bong : well in Max..
Max : Hey guys! Still enjoying the tapes for four years now! Keep it up!
Warvadal : @DJtec. I had some problems with your back cover. Had to resize it (too big). + I don't know if that's the way you wanted it to look (sideways), but that's how it was uploaded. Let me know. I'm out of town until sunday. Peace.
bong : oo ooo ooo ooo.rrrrrrrrrrrr e
dj readybreak : Cheers for the upload peeps, enjoy!
bong : cheers for the headsup
bong : ok. the mix is now vepiks but the comments are still wrong.. will try and see if this can be rectified

Fantastic mix, just found this site and what a mix to kick it all off for me!
brilliant
May 24th, 2007 at 7:11 pm
Thanks everyone - really pleased you enjoyed it, and that some of you were even a bit moved
It was quite a challenge pulling all the bits together in a coherent way, and some great samples had to fall by the wayside. Next time…
Big up to Lenodd for helping me master it, which made all the difference at the end.
Welcome to b00mb0x richiek - I’m sure you’ll find many more mixes you enjoy - difficulty is finding time to listen to them all!
