Stuck to 1989-1991 era of mainly piano tracks, influenced by UK version of acid house. I loved these tracks when they were out, very positive with a dark edge to them. The PTV remix I think stands well on it’s own today.
ohh yes tracklistin looks good…..on the dload now….lookin forward to listenin to this one
Great days m8, this looks top. Do you remember That Piano Track by Outrage? Fantastic stuff..anyways d/l now cheers hp
aceeeeed 😈
Outrage…now your talkin…Fabi Paras…whatever happened to him…he produced some great tunes in the early 90’s
,his Soundclash Republic releases were spot on
ooooooooh, Love Baby by Fortran 5! I thought I was the only person in the universe who’d heard of that track!! 😉 I shall be giving this a listen…
My freind this is GENIUS.
Seriously brightened my day.
I’ve been thinking of doing a rave/happy hardcore mix and this has only convinced me of the wisdom of that idea.
😀
Thank you all! This mix is pure cheese, but djs like Danny Rampling and Mark Moore (S’Express) have shown just how good cheese can sound if it’s the right cheese. many of these tracks I’ve never heard out, but wished I had. A track I wanted to include , but was too difficult to mix in, is “Make It Rain” by KLF. I love KLF/Jamms , but had no idea how great this track was until I heard it @ 3AM(no pun) at a rave in ’92. The bass, drums, and vocals had a hypnotic effect that I get excited about. A happy hardcore mix would be killer. Some of my fave memories were of the early Surban Base/Reinforced/SUAD/Moving Shadow/Whitehouse/XL output. The original mix of “Your Love” by Prodigy is pure magic. As is “Hurt You So” by Johnny L. Crimial Minds, Blame and Justice, Sons of Loop Da Loop, sooo many memories.
Yeah loved this mix. Took me right back, there must be so many great tunes from those days I’ve forgotten. Time to start digging through the vinyl i think 😀 😀
good cheese! you got that right – this was great – some ace memories for me – enjoyed it immensely – well mixed and put together – top job briscoe! 🙂
Knew every track.Loved your mixing.Loved the bassomatic & fortran5 the most.An incredible play on the big speakers here.
Pre-dates my foray into dance music (I was well into punk music until about ’93), but I obviously recognised the classics.
Great mix buddy. Do you DJ on PC or decks?
Thank you , thank you. I mix on PC (Traktor Studio 2 or ACID 4). I have lots of vinyl, just can’t mix it. When I put together a mix on Tractor, I don’t have a sound card that I can listen to the next track I’m mixing in, so I mix it in by sight (bass drums, hit hats, etc). I see what works best together and time where it would mix best. I love to drop the bass and slow down or speed up , and get sloppy, gives the mix a tangible quality.Of course, some stuff is just impossible to mix, so that’s where Acid comes in.
Oh yes, I know that feeling that some stuff is impossible to mix……it never stops me trying though 😆
I get tempted into droppin the bass out, but I never seem to time it quite right, so I’ve given up on that!
Sterling Void – classic! I loved Runaway Girl by him as well
Great mix Briscoe. Brought back some great memories. Baby Ford was a top chap, shame he didn’t release more stuff.
Baby Ford still releases music , it’s mainly very harsh techno and eletro much in the vein of Steve Stoll and on his own label as well as Aphex Twin’s Rephlex label. Still, not nearly as fun to listen to as his early acid house. Tracks like Beach Bump and Oochy Koochy, just plain fun.
Fantastic track selection, brings me right back to the “Good Old Days”.
Nice job.
