Theme: Connections Reloaded by Ajay D'Souza. Derived from Connections.
This mix has been lurking in the back of my mind for a while now, I’ve just been waiting to decide which covers to use and to put them together.
Like the last mix there’s not much actual mixing going on, its a bit of fun though.
Track list as follows
Ben Folds – Bitches Ain’t Shit
The Be Good Tanyas – When Doves Cry
Scala Girls Choir – I Touch Myself
Brown U. Derbies – Karma Police
Tori Amos – Smells Like Teen Spirit
Stevie Wonder – We Can Work It OUt
Jamelia – Numb
Travis – Hit Me Baby One More Time
The BEautiful South – Don’t Fear The Reaper
Scissor Sisters – Take Me OUt
Christain Ice – Blue
Nice concept. I’ve been colleting cover versons for a while, but I’ve never got round to doing a mix….too difficult to do in a mix as a general rule.
This is getting close to the top of the pile!
Really enjoyed this Ross, some great ‘versions’ of of some great tunes.
That Tori Amos cover was interesting! It’s grown on me now that I re-listened to it a couple of times, and the Stevie Wonder cover is possibly as good as the original.
Cheers.
The Stevie Wonder cover is one of the few I’ve come across where the genere hasn’t been changed (ie both are basically pop) yet the song is clearly different.
Apologies for the Death Metal track at the end. I put it in for comedy value, but then when I went back and listened to it again I realised it’s funny for the first 20-30 seconds and then quite painful for the remaining 2 minutes
😀
Yeah, I didnt want to mention that……or remember it!! 😉
It’s really good fun, even the last track. Not always in the mood to hear this type’a novelty-ish thing, but it’s well-done,& would be fun to play for company.
That tori track is fantastic. The travis one didn’t thrill me,but I was amused nonetheless.
Must have been good times deciding what to use.
Very good work at sequencing.
