Kasade – In This Life (8:28 mark)

Subway – Journey (42:17 mark)
James Holden – Kearn (Exclusive Unreleased) (47:50 mark)
This mix is my business card for the Lazy//Sexy series.
I say this because I’ve tried to cover every genre I typically cover with an emphasis on a building flow. Instrumental, deep house, disco house, and a special closer — this is the one that, if asked to present a piece of work to represent my entire catelogue’s sound, would be it. Or if I pointed someone to this site, I’d say “Give 022 a listen”. That’s how much this mix means to me.
So I really want you to give this a listen. And I’d love to know what your thoughts are.

A real heartfelt plea!!
I had this on in the background when I went back to bed to try and stop my head from spinning (got very very pissed last night), and I was mightily impressed. Especially loved the first two tunes; house music at its loveliest!
I was say that a good house mix should be something that you could imagine yourself enjoying it at a club. This did just that and made my dancing shoes ready for action…..if I could just control these bouts of nausea I might just do it!
agree with dangerscouse – the intro is superb – I’m not a huge fan of today’s vocal stuff, so the caribbean queen sampling tune passed me by a bit, but smooth mixing, nice transitions and a cool vibe overall. Would work really well as an early club set to get the place up for it! 🙂
btw, I know subway – used tp work with them in a record shop – their stuff is awesome! 😈
Yeah, that Carribean Queen tune wasn’t the best.
was with it for about 20mins but the rest is not for me. impeccable mixing as always
The Carribean Queen cut was my attempt at including a tune that could hook in new people who had otherwise never heard of (or disregarded) electronic music. I had a feeling it would leave a cheesy residue on the vets hands… but it keeps the tempo going.
The first two / three tunes make up the deep house section, and are pretty much some of my favorite releases. “In This Life” just got a bunch of remixes released and could possibly be Kaskade’s best work to date.
Tracks six through eight make up the disco section… some aren’t too crazy about it, but it’s a sound I’ve been known for, and these records are my favorite out of my collection.
And that Subway tune is blinding; I listened to it nonstop for weeks on end. Bong, if anything just skip right to it — it’s one spacey number!
Thanks for the comments guys.
vepik – have you done a pure deep house mix on here? would be interested to hear that – you pick some v nice deep stuff out
My catelogue rotates from the upbeat main-room stuff to the deep, dimly-lit-bedroom stuff. “That’s how I roll” 😆
Lazy//Sexy 20, my latest deep house effort, was your modern, deep house stuff… more danceable (like the deep house from this set)
Lazy//Sexy 02 was my strongest, dubbiest, spaciest deep house set. Bong liked it a lot (that’s a good reference in case you ever need a job DJing btw), this was more for armchair grooving. Definatly meant for the late, sweaty nights of summer.
Lazy//Sexy 09 was more experimental deep house. I was trying to make a deep house set for the early AM.
Lazy//Sexy 13 was my attempt at making a blissed out, deep set for when the sun’s going down. Nothing fancy, just a bunch of tunes for a long stretch of driving or whatnot.
Lazy//Sexy 15 is a lot like this set. Starts off really mellow, but instead of going into disco it just progresses into more upbeat deep house.
Lazy//Sexy 17 is deep house, but it’s more cafe-oriented; The first five tracks or so are all saxaphone instrumentals with house beats.
Next month is another tropical set (not as over the top disco as this one was) but ater that comes a springtime deep house set for all you stoners out there, followed by a deep house set that I’m having trouble describing other than “deep tribal”, like 02 was.
“Wow Vepik get a life” 😉
wicked – got summat deep on the way too – will have to be next month now though – will check a few of them out. FWIW I’m less main room nowadays and more armchair 😉
Vepik, love your sets. I think you’d love the sets my friend fleep.com does. He’s revamping his site at the moment but you can grab one set here:

All throughout I found track after track of pleasure. My fave set of your’n,too! I would recommend it in a heartbeat.
Great cover.I’ve actually been in that situation before, many times.
Thanks much!
There you are, Daizhengyu! I had a feeling you’d like this one. Lenodd — Looking forward to hearing what you’re stewin’ over… being a houseaholic here and all. And let’s get Fleep over here at the ‘box, eh?
Good to hear from you again, daizhengyu! Glad you enjoyed it!
Lookin forward to that deep house set your stewin’ over. And if you still keep in touch with Subway, let em know what a sick cut “Journey” is. I mixed this forever ago and I still come back to that one song…
Gen / Fleep, give in with hosting your own site. It’s a pain in the ass, and Naz & Co. can do it better . Get in the ‘box! 😉
Yeah I replied twice. The comments weren’t showing up so I thought it was a glitch.
You guys get twice the kudos.
haha nice – got to congratulate you on an earworm – I found myself singing caribbean queen to myself while cycling down the road last night – don’t know why?! 😉
Check out ‘testing’ by subway on sunday best – their best track for me – deep as you like with an electro flavour.
Next month cometh the deep set 😈
