OK – this is more of a collection of my favourite oldskool tracks which I have mixed together, all of which bring back a lot of good memories.
My next mix planned will be a less commercial affair. I’m planning for it to be a deep/tech/jacking house kinda mix. We’ll see what materialises.
Just about to download this one, looks awesome. I used to think my Dad was SO cool as he bought the 12″ version of whitelines and played it all the time
I always felt soory for Roly too, especially in Baxter’s gym class
Honestly – they all went shopping the other day. Apparently he’s a really funny bloke.
Very much doubt I’ll ever have the honour of meeting the great man though 🙄
Cheers Briscoe – the idea behind this mix was to put together the tracks that your Ministry of Sound ‘Back To The OldSkool’ Volume 10000000000 or whatever always seem to miss out.
Often I find myself going into a record shop and picking up a ‘dance classics’ CD and saying to myself, ‘how can that be a classic when it was only released two weeks ago?!’
Anyway, I’ve either created another one of those mixes that misses out a few favorites or hopefully plugged some of the gaps left out by those kind of mixes 😕
Some great memories in there, and I thought that you were only 20 years old, yet you’ve pulled out the right tunes that remind me of my clubbing days when you were just a wee nipper??
As for Ro-land, you have GOT to meet him……and arrange for me and all my mates to be there too 😉
Yeah, its true, clubbing back then from what I’ve seen and heard was a million times better than what it is now. No chavs at gigs going just because the DJ is famous and causing trouble. Everyone was there for the music and the unity – and its what DJing and Live performances should be about.
Unfortunately I missed that as I was too young. The only club I can say that I’ve been to and experienced unity and everybody there just for the music and a good time is probably The Quay Clubs ‘Jelly Jazz’ night in Plymouth.
For anyone who hasn’t heard of it and or has the chance to go ITS BLOODY AWESOME! Really soulful grooves, some funk, some hip hop and jazz amongst other similar styles of music. Going back there next month 😀
haha! That crazy grange hill theme! Nice bookend piece.
I knew every track very well & love that part of this.It left me open more to assess the mixing, which was very nice.
A wonderful set with excellent selection.
Cheers Useo and Bong. My next mix is gunna be recorded next week and uploaded in the first week of Feb. Tech / Jacking House – Hopefully it’ll be my finest mix to date (technically anyway). Hopefully even if the music isn’t too favorable for some they’ll like the way I mix it 😉
Likin it Tom. Nice piece. Echo the sentiments of clubbing in the good old days.
Music was king. Even (for me) drinking wasn’t sometimes on the agenda. The music gets you high…..

lol – one of my friends b/f’s is best mates with him. He’s a face of ‘Retro’ 😆
Oh my god, serious?????!!!! That’s fuckin great!!
Just noticed South Street Players….that is an all-time classic tune that never gets’ the playtime that it thorughly deserves.

Absolute fun mix, and well mixed. I love the inclusion of D-Influnce (from my #4 all time fave album, Good 4 We). This mix rocks it like it’s 88-92
