….just when you thought it was safe to have me as Site Admin, I go and prove my ineptness at self-posting!! Doh! 😳
It’ll be worth the wait, honest!!
looks good now, did you figure out where you went wrong?
Woo Hoo!! I must have!! Thought that someone else had done it for me.
The mix is back to funk, soul & hiphop with some latin style tunes as well. The general idea is a happy mix with a funky vibe that takes you in different directions.

Blazing Saddles! Blazing pants, more like! Most amusing!
You got me on every track! I knew none of them, but liked them very much.Well-chosen & finely mixed. The style was appealing on a dance level & a mood one also.Sure love variety in music.
Thanks for a fine play!
😀 😀 😀 😀 8) 8) 8)
Cheers mate! Glad you enjoyed it. Surprised that you didn’t know any of the tracks, as you seem to have a very wide knowledge of music, although the last half was slightly obscure.
Had to get that Blazzing Saddles quote into a mix somehow.
topknotch ❗
I like to think I have a wide knowledge of music, but there is sooo much music available & I spend half my music time listening to boots. Thanks for exposing me to more! 😀
sound mix lad, with Los Chicarrons- Catch Me
being my tune of the mix, amongst the other fine choices
funki as ….
Nice work scouse. Most new to me so thanks for opening my ears wider…??!! 😯
Ta H.P. & Bong! That’s what it’s all about discovering new quality tunes.
Like Mwude said on the forum a while back, there’s loads of tunes out there but the ‘boxers sift through them all to find the best.
Nice mix mate, loving the funk and soul especially! Do another one soon! – Stick ‘JusJus’ by Mr Scruff in it too when you do. I love that tune! 🙂
Cheers for the comments Tom. Got another one ready to go, but it’s slightly slower somewhere between my “Hand Shaped Air” mix and this one. I’ll put ‘JusJus’ in one soon as well, seeing as you asked 😉
Next one is another funky breaks mix just in time for Chrimbo & NYE. Also got an eclectic mix ready to post, with a ‘Tru Thoughts’ style all teed up; just need to find the time!!
All my mixes with have some form of funk in there…..I always look for it in a tune.
Good work Mr.Scouse !! 😀
A really enjoyable ride, with some right nice views.
“More beans Mr.Taggert ?”
🙂 😀 😛 😆
Just listened to this one on a long car journey and kept cranking up the volume more and more. Really groovy mix that hangs together really well. It sounds like you put a lot of care into the track selection and it’s well funky throughout. I’ve always been partially to party breaks and this one really worked for me.
Did you mix it live? Everything is really smoooooove – great job!
BTW “Giant Panda- Rascist” the tune that ends with them rapping about Japan? Loved that one – is it worth me looking out for more tracks by the same guys?
Cheers Edward, nice to hear! Yeah it was done on CD decks in one take (but I did fuck it up to start with and had to start again).
I did mess around with the playlist for a bit; there weren’t any new additions but some got moved around to kind of build up in the middle and then change direction slightly. The funk is a signature of my mixes, its always there.
I was slightly disappointed in the Giant Panda album, there are two or three great tracks, “Rascist” being one of them, but the rest didn’t inspire me that much. They aren’t bad, but they aren’t quite as good. Borrow it if you can, ’cause you may disagree. If you liked the All Good Funk Alliance track, their album “Social Comment is well worth it; one of my favourite albums of 2006. No fillers all outstanding tracks, in a similar vein to “Direct Me”
