Theme: Connections Reloaded by Ajay D'Souza. Derived from Connections.
Two mixes in one really.
The first half dark in sound and theme. A mix of music, mostly electronic and dance, but a couple of guitar based tracks sneak in at the beginning.
The second half sunny and upbeat. Mostly House music and Chillout with a Latin tinge.
It’s a bit experimental for me, usually I’m a straight one type of music per mix guy. Hopefully something for everyone in here though. If you want to skip Darkness and go straight for Light the interlude is at 58 minutes.
Enjoy

haven’t listened yet, but your covers are terrific again, you have a nice eye for design 😀
Some great stuff here, you even got me enjoying Muse (before I knew who it was ;-)) but I must say the whole section with the stand-up at the start was pretty depressing. I don’t think I would listen to that again, it mostly made me uncomfortable. Somebody posted a war/political mix a while back and I felt a similar thing – that’s not why I listen to music, that’s why I read well-written articles. I also find the likes of NIN really whiny so I was starting to grimace a little.
You definitely achieved what you set out to though because I felt really weighed down by the first half, the second half came as such a relief and I really enjoyed it (not a big fan of anything Latin in general). It was very bright and breezy and got me nodding along; although maybe a little lightweight for me to listen to as a standalone mix, it perfectly balanced the first half.
i love that lazyboy tune
Yeah, I’m a big fan as well. That and the Blacklight Sleaze track inspired the dark half of the mix.
The Peter, Bjorn and John track inspired the light half.
Thanks as always for the comments guys.
My favourite part of posting a mix is seeing what other people think, even if they hate it.
The new voting system is good, but it’s easily skewed, so I prefer to give and get feedback.
Like the music , very eclectic , like a good radio show, but as always I think the samples get in the way of the music, makes it sound cluttered. The Muse track sounds sorta Queenish , which is a good thing. Not big on all the tracks , but some are possible growers. I like the progression . Radio dj, community radio , 11PM. Nice one.
I thought I’d been quite restrained with samples this time. Only 4 in there that weren’t already part of the tracks.
The whole Muse album is a bit like queen meets radiohead meets 70s progrock. It’s a bit mad, but fun.
Enjoyed the dark half more….second half a bit too light for my tastes. However, the ‘something for everyone’ approach raise this mix up a notch – I think a mix that takes a few different directions is a good thing.
