Finally.. a mix where I recognize most, if not all, of the artists (doesnt happen often, believe me). Looking forward to checking this one out when I’m able to download it.
Thanks guys!
After the last coupla months, I feels like I been rode hard and put up wet, so this was a little something to try and clear up what few brain cells I got left.
And don’t fergit to burn one for mum and pop, eh!
Thanks H-P and bong for giving this one a look-see.
Admittedly, it ain’t much but it was a nice bit of escape from all the real-world crap of the last few weeks, eh!
If you have a look through Greg, you’ll see all the mixes are hosted as one big fat mp3 file. I’m sure you can chop it up yourself though can’t you?
Note: home chopping may result in quality loss and more than anything is mixologically unethical 😉
Anyway, not heard any of your mixes before Geez, it’s a good ‘un to start me off. From what else I’ve heard on here, it’s quite a departure, good stuff. When I finally finish one and put it up, I look forward to checking out your previous in the archives.
Greg > this is a site for posting collections of songs much like you would make and share a mixtape “back in the day”. Do people still make cassette mixtapes??
Boston Crab > Thanks for dropping by the b0x and for you comments. I guess it’s my age that makes my mixes appear a bit different from the others here. But this is where my heart is now, working with the music that I grew up with thru the 60’s and 70’s and those sounds that were more directly influenced by that era.
Not to say that I don’t like the newer stuff going on here. I find myself always pleased to discover a lot of new sounds going on with the young lions of b00mb0x.
darkwing >> thanks for giving The Geez a listen. I hope you find more offerings of mine to your liking as you travel back thru the archives.
And you are quite correct, that Talking Heads track was dubbed from a very early commercial cassette I found stashed away from one of my earlier moves. I tried to EQ it better, but I guess the Geezer’s ears aren’t what they used to be, eh? 🙂
Geez> Thanks, I have a few of your previous offerings. They are very popular with the ‘older’ clients at an english pub here in Cape Town, South Africa. I shall hopefully drop a copy of this mix there this week.
BTW> What album was that talking heads track taken off??
Wow! That’s quite a treat to hear!!
Thanks for sharing!
And please tell everybody down at the pub that The Geez sends his best and thanks for enjoying my mixes.
If I’m ever around Cape Town, I’ll be sure to pop in and buy everybody a round. 🙂
That album title is “More Songs About Buildings and Food”.
I had bought the commercially available non-Dolby cassette of the album such a long time ago and had put it “in storage” during one of my moves about the country (USA).
